How KJUS Harnesses the Power of Graphene Technology

Imagine a material so strong it could one day replace steel, yet so thin it is nearly invisible. That material is graphene, a single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal lattice. It's remarkable strength, flexibility, and conductivity have made it a breakthrough in industries from aerospace to medicine. Graphene is also one of the most effective heat conductors ever discovered, capable of transferring warmth with exceptional efficiency.

This unique property caught the attention of our KJUS design team as they explored new ways to advance thermoregulation in high-performance ski and golf apparel. We sat down with our in-house innovators to discuss how they discovered the potential of graphene and how they have integrated it into some of the most advanced pieces in the KJUS collection.

How Did KJUS Start Using Graphene?

“We have been using graphene technology in our product line for many years. It has become one of our core materials and plays an important role in our thermoregulation story. Because of its ability to conduct heat, graphene helps us design apparel that keeps the body in balance across a range of changing conditions.”

Graphene’s ability to move heat efficiently across the body supports the KJUS mission to create outerwear that performs at the highest level, helping skiers and golfers stay warm, dry, and comfortable from the first tee to last run.

Where Does KJUS Source Its Graphene?

“We originally worked with several technology partners in Europe and Asia to source our graphene. Over time, we expanded to include new suppliers who share our commitment to innovation and performance. Graphene is integrated into various parts of products depending on the performance need. It can be found in the insulation, fabric membranes, yarn, or as a printed layer. Every application is designed to maximise graphene’s ability to conduct heat and ensure long-lasting comfort.”

How Does Graphene Technology Solve Performance Challenges?

“Graphene’s greatest benefit lies in its ability to regulate temperature. By conducting heat evenly across the body, it eliminates hot and cold zones. If one part of your body is generating more heat, the graphene lining helps move that warmth from your core toward your extremities,” explains the design team.

KJUS also lines many of its phone pockets with graphene. Cold temperatures can drain batteries quickly, but a graphene-lined pocket helps maintain warmth and extend battery life. This feature adds not only convenience but also safety, ensuring you can make a call if you ever need assistance.

What Other Materials Are Used Alongside Graphene?

“Graphene is one of several advanced materials KJUS uses to enhance comfort and control on the mountain. It is often combined with phase change materials, which absorb heat as the body warms and release it when it cools, maintaining an ideal temperature balance.”

KJUS also incorporates mineral circulation fabric, designed to improve blood flow and recovery during active performance.

This combination of intelligent technologies sets KJUS apart from other ski brands. While many other ski apparel companies simply provide warmth, KJUS apparel actively manages heat distribution, breathability, and flexibility to help skiers perform at their best.

Is Graphene Used in KJUS Golf and Ski Products?

“Yes, several of our golf and ski jackets feature graphene. The Reach Jacket is a midweight insulator with a printed graphene lining that regulates temperature, making it ideal for cooler spring rounds. The Formula Jacket includes graphene-lined back panelling and phone pocket to extend battery as temperatures drop. Both pieces were designed to perform in the coldest conditions.”

Pushing Boundaries with Graphene Innovation

Graphene’s exceptional conductivity and versatility have made it a cornerstone of KJUS innovation. By incorporating this advanced material into ski and golf apparel, KJUS continues to redefine what is possible in performance wear.

As graphene technology evolves, KJUS looks forward to expanding its use across even more categories, further enhancing comfort, precision, and performance on the slopes, on the course, and beyond. By integrating it across our performance apparel, KJUS redefines what comfort and thermoregulation mean on the mountain and beyond.
