A LEGACY OF SPEED
Born and raised on a ranch in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, Alice McKennis Duran is a true product of the Rocky Mountains. From her first turns at Sunlight Mountain Resort at age two to competing on the world’s most intimidating downhill courses, Alice has defined what it means to be an "American Downhiller."
Known for her "warrior spirit," Alice overcame multiple career-threatening injuries to reach the pinnacle of her sport. Her career is anchored by two Olympic appearances (2010, 2018), including a remarkable 5th-place finish in the Olympic Downhill in Pyeongchang, and a historic World Cup victory in St. Anton, Austria.
THE NEXT CHAPTER: MENTORSHIP & LEADERSHIP
Following her retirement from competitive racing in 2021, Alice has transitioned into one of the most respected voices in American ski racing. In September 2025, her legendary career was officially immortalized with her induction into the Colorado Snowsports Hall of Fame, a testament to her impact on the sport both on and off the snow.
Today Alice is dedicated to shaping the future of the sport through her role on the National Faculty for U.S. Ski and Snowboard. She is deeply involved in coaching and ski education where she leads PSIA Clinics with a specialized focus on racing and Giant Slalom technique. Beyond the technical side of the sport, she serves as an Athlete Gift Officer for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Foundation to help secure the resources necessary for the next generation of athletes.

• Hall of Fame Inductee: Named to the Colorado Snowsports Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
• Two-Time Olympian: Represented Team USA at the 2010 Vancouver and 2018 Pyeongchang Games (5th in Downhill).
• World Cup Victor: Winner of the St. Anton Downhill (2013) and podium finisher in Åre, Sweden.
• Three-Time U.S. National Champion: Secured titles in Downhill (2017) and Super-G (2015, 2020).
• International Leader: Served as a 10-Year Athlete Representative on the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Board of Directors.

For Alice, the transition from elite racer to educator has deepened her appreciation for gear that performs. As a KJUS ambassador, Alice values the philosophy of constant improvement which mirrors her own approach to life. Whether she is leading clinics for the National Faculty or coordinating speed projects for the national team, she relies on apparel that offers the same precision and technical excellence she demanded as a World Cup racer. She believes that coaching is about understanding what patterns best fit the student. KJUS demonstrates this same philosophy of refinement and high performance through gear that never stops improving.
